Charter Point Is Model Home for Model Car Company

7th January 2010

Leading Midlands developer Cedar House Investments has made a positive start to 2010, with the announcement that it has leased further office space at Charter Point, its five-acre, flagship office development in Ashby.

The company, has leased a additional floor of office accommodation to D Radio Control, which specialises in the design and manufacture of radio control model cars for hobbyists and model car enthusiasts

The company moved to Charter Point last July after its launch in April. Its decision to take further space within the scheme follows a successful first year of business and forms part of its planned expansion.

Charter Point, which is strategically located close to the M1, M6 and A50 road links, provides prestigious office facilities ranging in size from 1,500 ft2 – 50,000 ft2.

The initial phases are now complete and have proved extremely popular, with only two units now remaining. Both are available for sale or to let.

Each building offers flexible, quality office accommodation with a self contained identity for each occupier and generous car parking within a landscaped environment.

Explaining their decision to expand within Charter Point, Jason Deardon, managing director at D Radio Control, said:

“The high quality of Cedar House Investments’ schemes, coupled with Charter Point’s proximity to the major motorway interchanges, made it the ideal location for our new business and we are delighted to be taking further space in order to expand our operation.”

Chris Carlisle, managing director of Cedar House Investments, added:

“Charter Point is becoming a commercial centre of growing importance and has already attracted high profile names including Miller Homes, Bloor Homes, TNT and Progress Accountants.

“Charter Point provides a unique opportunity for any companies looking to buy or rent high quality, purpose-designed office accommodation and continues to attract considerable interest from both established local companies keen to take advantage of its excellent location and from businesses outside the area looking to relocate to Ashby,” added Chris.

With a portfolio totalling more than £75 million, Cedar House Investments is one of the Midlands’ most progressive developers.

Despite the current economic climate, lettings and sales continue at schemes in Ashby, Northampton, Corby and Stoke-on-Trent, together with the 35 acre former Nestlé site in Ashbourne Derbyshire. The company is also transforming the five hectare former Bombardier bogie works on Pride Park in Derby in a £50 million mixed-use development.

Agents for the Charter Point Scheme are North Rae Sanders on 0247 663 6888 and King Sturge on 0115 9082120 and 0121 233 2898.
